America Recycles Day (ARD), held every year on November 15, is a national campaign to raise awareness about the benefits of recycling and buying products made with recycled materials. Buying recycled is the step that "closes the recycling loop."

Screw recycles day! Why not care for the world around us everyday? It's a lot easier than it seems. Try one new action a month and you'll see just how easy it is.....

-buy a compost bin and throw your food waste in there
-bring your own bag when shopping (I keep a chico bag in my very small purse and reusable bags in my car)
-replace your incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent lights
-turn off lights in unoccupied areas
-freecycle or goodwill your old stuff
-Unplug electronics that are not in use
