Market of Choice says Good-bye Plastic!

I was very excited to find that our local Market will retire the plastic bag come October. I think it's a step in the right direction. With Seattle and San Francisco paving the way, we will hopefully fall in line with some European countries that follow a similar green strategy.
October maybe a sad time for the people who reuse p. bags for garbage or pet waste pickup. I am more inclined to use reusable bags for groceries and buy biodegradable bags for the other uses. Thankfully our Market is offering reusable bags for only 99 cents! The price is well below retail cost.
It's easy to keep a stock of reusable bags in the car or in the bike basket ;) for grocery trips. I also keep a Patagonia Carry Y'all Bag/Chico Bag in my purse for impromptu shopping occasions. Besides, you have to agree, you'll look smart toting around groceries in a stylish shopping bag and not the flimsy plastic or paper bags.
REDUCE FIRST...reuse second and recycle last!
