I've lived in a few of places growing up due to my dad's job. Some of those places include: Mt. Home ID, Del Rio TX, San Antonio TX, Clovis NM, Worlington England, Incirlik Turkey, and Edina MN. These are most of them and I loved having the opportunity to travel and live all over the world.
I finished High school in Edina then headed to Moorhead, MN for a four year stint at Concordia College... I moved back to Minneapolis after college and found the lure of the West coast too much to resist and moved to Eugene, OR. I've been in Eugene since 1998 and plan to stay for a long time. Only an hour East, to quality climbing, and an hour West, to probably the best, and most consistent kiteboarding in the country. I blame my lifestyle on one person, Alex Peterson. He got me stoked on climbing in the mid-nineties and I have since been a full time climbing bum. Climbing has been a strong part of my life and is how I have made my living for the last seven years. Then one day he put a kite in my hand and I haven't been able to stop thinking about carving perfect rights in 20+ knots with my bros at the jetty.
Once Janiece came into my life, I've taken the time to appreciate the wonder of where we live. I've also gotten to share my addictions with her and she has taken to kiting like she did with climbing - Full steam ahead. Now it's off to the mountain in the winter with kites or being lazy and riding chairs up, and to the coast in the summer to ride the waves and dodge great whites. Life is good when you have a beautiful wife to share your passions, and a wonderful daughter who loves to rip the mountain and will soon be flying kites. I'm stoked!
